A lot of us are vying for success. We are looking out for that breaking point in our life, our career and business; that moment when we’ll meet someone or receive a call from an unknown caller, a colleague or a relative about a prospect that might be the break we wished for. None of us can deny that. Or at least, I can tell you that I can’t deny that I continuously yearn for that even though to some people, you have achieved a lot in your life.
One thing about opportunities is that, they will continuously come. Like someone said, opportunities are never missed. They are simply passed from one person to another. In other words, opportunities are recycled. If one person does not prepare well for an opening, when that break comes, he misses that opportunity. But then, the same opportunity will present itself to another person in the same manner or in another manner. Hence, what you fail to do doesn’t remain undone. Someone else somewhere takes up that task and accomplishes it in another fashion.
You have heard the saying: “No man is an island of knowledge.” I emphasize that truth in your ears today. One may be unique in what he does but it doesn’t mean he/she is the only one that does such. Take it from me; there are thousands, if not millions, who do what you do in one uniquely different way from how you do yours. So don’t feel like the ocean; taking up the whole space as if the world is made out for you. Always remember that there are seas, lakes, rivers, ponds and even the oasis.
There is an answer we can always give to opportunities. It is either in the positive or in the negative. Pay attention to this, you can’t say yes to every opportunity. There are many, not some, many opportunities that you need to answer no to. Not every opportunity is meant for you. You need to pay attention to what you do and where you are going before you can answer to any opportunity that comes your way. This is the reason God is a factor I like to discuss when it comes to a man’s life. There is no other superior authority in heaven and on earth that can guarantee sure success except God. If a man lives his life out of the context of God and His plan for his life, it is like living a life of gamble. God helps you to sort out those opportunities when you seek Him for answers. Let me share this explicit passage from the scriptures:
With all your heart you must trust the LORD and not your own judgment. Always let Him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow. – Proverbs 3: 5-6, The Bible CEV
