One thing I love about seasons is that each year is a new one and it isn’t always like, “we’ve seen that kind of season last season” but there is always anticipation for better things and better memories to hang on to, better than the previous. A good thing it is.
I don’t know where the tradition started and I think I don’t want to Google it yet. When it comes to Easters, people get around sharing meals and most especially boiled eggs. Hmm… Yeah, weird huh? (That’s if you’re just hearing it for the first time) I have grown up to love the Easter season. Just like Christmas, it is a season for eating fried chicken (lol).
The purpose of the Easter cannot be over-emphasised. It avails me, most importantly, to keep the knowledge of the saving grace being shared at all times. It is very difficult for a man to give you his precious possession – almost impossible. But God did it for us. Not because He is some big gun seated up high in the heavens but because His love for us and His desire that we be reconciled back to Him is very important. This purpose, He has been hoping to achieve since the time the world began. He has been patiently waiting for the time when man will CHOOSE to come to Him.
He(God) wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us–Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.
– The Bible; I Timothy 2 vs. 1- 7 (The Message)
What is your choice today, my dear reader? Do you choose to keep living wrongly and in so doing keep crucifying him to the cross? Or will you accept the grace He has offered through His One and Only Son. This season is not just about eating chicken and boiled eggs; it is about the purpose of the coming of the most important man to the world. His purpose – that you might not perish after all.
This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.
– The Bible; John 3:16 (The Message)
So if each season rebrands itself, why not choose to rebrand yourself by becoming anew today?
Happy Easter to you all.
